Welcome to the CommodityTrends Blog
Hello, and welcome.
If this is your first time landing on CommodityTrends, glad you found us. If you're already a Course Member, glad you're here too — this new blog was built with both of you in mind.
What This Blog Is
CommodityTrends has been quietly serving self-directed traders for years. Our home base is a subscription service built around daily videos, weekly market outlooks, a deep curriculum, and live support from real people — all centered on swing and position trading the commodity futures, options, and select equities markets, using daily charts and a defined process. No day trading. No hype. No black boxes.
This blog is something different, and it lives outside the subscription. Think of it as the front porch — a place where I can write openly about the markets, the craft of trading, the patterns and methodologies we teach, and the lessons I've picked up across 36 years of trading through every market regime you can name.
You'll find posts here on things like:
- How to read the daily chart with intention
- Named setups we use every day — the 1-2-3, the Fish Hook, the Rule of Threes, the Low Ball, and the Momentum Entry Technique
- Trading commodity futures and options on futures
- Seasonality in the grains, energies, metals, and meats
- Risk management, trader psychology, and the unglamorous habits that separate consistent traders from the rest
If any of that sounds useful, bookmark the page. New posts will land regularly.
To My Course Members — Welcome
For our existing members: this blog is an additional channel, not a replacement for anything. The daily videos, the Friday training, the monthly newsletter, and everything inside the member area continue exactly as they are. Consider this a bonus — a place where I get to write a little more freely, and where you can send a friend, a brother-in-law, or a curious co-worker who keeps asking what it is you actually do all day.
CTTP 3.0 Is Live
Both groups should know about this one: CTTP 3.0 is here, and it has replaced CTTP 2.0 across the platform.
CTTP — short for the CommodityTrends Trading Plan — is the methodology I've been refining for years. The 3.0 version is something I'm particularly proud of, because it's fully transparent and entirely chart-based. Every signal, every entry, every exit lives directly on the chart. Visible. Explainable. Teachable.
That last word matters. CTTP 3.0 isn't a black box you blindly follow. It's a method you can actually learn, internalize, and run yourself. You see exactly why a setup fires, and exactly what to do when it does. For our members, this is the next chapter. For anyone curious about what we do, it's the clearest possible window into the way we approach the markets.
More Coming
We've got several other features on the drawing board for the months ahead — small things and big things, all designed to make the experience richer for members and the doorway a little wider for newcomers. I'm not going to spoil the surprises. Just keep an eye on this blog and the member area. Good things are coming.
Questions?
If you have questions about anything — CTTP 3.0, the membership, the new blog, or even just a market you're trying to make sense of — our team is here at: support@commoditytrends.com. We read every message.
Thanks for stopping by. Now let's get back to the charts.
